Arctecon produces high value, high performance buildings.  However, the nature and quality of our services is what allows us to exceed client expectations.  We provide necessary and appropriate planning, programming, design, engineering, estimating, procurement and construction services for our projects. 

All necessary project design services are provided either in house or through consultants. Our in house services include:

• Alternative solution and life cycle research, and economic analysis
• Space needs benchmarking, analysis and programming
• Conceptual design

• Building and interior design
• Furniture analysis and coordination
• Construction documents
• Construction phase services

The first four of the above services are part of our unique “Performance Design” practice approach that allows us to expand the value of design beyond traditional perceptions by linking  design, through research and economic analysis, to underlying client performance criteria such as profit. 

Based on project requirements, we employ consultants selected based on their proven track record and project specific expertise.  Traditional disciplines we utilize include:

• Civil and Structural Engineering
• Landscape Architecture
• Mechanical (Plumbing and HVAC) Engineering
• Electrical Engineering

The conventional design, bid, build project delivery process is linear and insular.  The design team determines project requirements, develops the design solution and estimates the project cost.  Separate construction companies then bid the project.  This process negates valuable opportunities for the design and construction team integration during critical early stages when the scope of the project is established, and often results in bids being higher than estimated project costs. 

Because it is linear, it also takes longer.  Even many design-build delivery teams do not effectively integrate all valid team disciplines, because one entity may dominate the process and/or core team members are chosen on a project basis and frequently change.
