KSBA OFFICES
Pittsburgh PA
In 1998, KSBA Architects renovated a 19th-century, former undertaker's stable in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, PA. The historic structure, which most recently served as an auto repair shop, was transformed into a state-of-the-art, information technology headquarters for the firm. Not only showcasing the latest design innovations, the facility is also serving as a working laboratory for emergent-technology research, including integrated-access flooring with modular cabling and under-floor HVAC, along with indirect lighting.

DUQUESNE LIGHT TRAINING AND CONFERENCE CENTER
Pittsburgh PA
In 2007, KSBA completed their largest, most comprehensive training facility to date for Duquesne Light Company in Western Pennsylvania. This 42,000 s.f. facility offers a full range of educational environments for the linemen training program, and includes simulated below- and above-ground environments, a pole barn, outdoor training areas, EPD distribution training areas, dining areas, state-of-the art classrooms, a fitness center and welcoming common spaces. The center has a conference space with integrated A/V capabilities. An office area on the second floor houses several corporate administrative departments.

EXPRESS SCRIPTS
Pueblo CO
Express Scripts, one of America’s largest pharmacy benefits managers, selected a former Sears big box site in Pueblo, CO for this contact center. The 73,800 SF space was designed to accommodate 594 seats and used a rich color palette throughout as well as a large curvilinear desk in the reception area.

FEDERAL COURTHOUSE and POST OFFICE
Erie PA
In 1997, as part of the General Services Administration’s Design Quality Program, the Joint Venture of KSBA Architects and Dan Peter Kopple & Associates (DPK&A) of Philadelphia, PA, was selected to design the Erie Federal Complex. This renovation and expansion of the Erie Federal Courthouse, including adaptive reuse of existing buildings on a site located at the heart of Erie, PA, contains three important historic structures. Two are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Oessaa TX
Telvista is KSBA’s third Sustainable Technology Business Center (STBC). The STBC was designed by KSBA as a prototypical “universal” building that can inexpensively adapt to a wide range of high-tech uses. Throughout the center, an integrated, raised-floor system was installed with under-floor HVAC for greater user comfort and increased air circulation.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE, FLEMING HALL
Buckhannon WV
West Virginia Wesleyan College needed to upgrade Fleming Hall. The original dormitory, built in 1949 had 208 beds, mostly in 2-bed rooms. Each floor had large gang toilet and shower areas and there was one laundry room in the basement. A single community room on the first floor was the central place for socializing.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE - NEW RESEARCH CENTER

Arctecon was pleased to be selected for the new science building at West Virginia Wesleyan College. The College’s 1960’s era building did not have the capacity to accommodate today’s research needs, so they created this project with the goal of giving their graduate students and faculty a state-of-the-art facility to pursue more research.
